Cashmere V.S. Vicuña

Cashmere V.S. Vicuña, I would say its obvious and I have some reasons why, Vicuña is much finer Vicuña is much softer Vicuña is much bigger Overall quality-a 1 pound Vicuña rug is about $800-$900 Vicuñas are much cuter cashmere goats (cashmere goats are what cashmere is made out of). Relaxing in Peru, Ollanta style!
(Ollanta is the name of a general, which is also used as a nickname or shortform for Ollantaytambo.) Wednesday April 10 was designated as a do-nothing day. We slept in, with most of the group missing breakfast time. I made it just under the wire. Eventually the rest of the family got up, and I made creamy scrambled eggs for them. We spent much of the day reading, writing, and playing games. Julian and I also spent a great deal of time wrestling with our SE Asian itinerary, researching options suggested by our travel agent in Thailand, and then sending — Read the Rest…

A long day at Machu Picchu

It was a very tiring and interesting day Tuesday (9th of April) when we went to Machu Picchu. Cliff the mountain climbing dog

Cliff is amazing, when we were starting our hike to the ruins at the top of some mountain a dog followed us to the top. Later I named him Cliff everybody agreed on the name so we called him Cliff. Then after the hike he ran of but after that we went to the Coffee Tree (an amazing cafe that we love) I found Cliff again. But after that we never saw him again.

Catching up – TheBigDayMinus1 and TheBigDay
So, the last time you heard from the intrepid travellers, we were planning on getting up early on Monday morning to scout out some Inkan ruins.. TheBigDayMinus1. You know that old saying, a bad rehearsal makes for a good performance? Well, we were counting on that on Monday, when we woke up 45 minutes later than planned! We couldn’t do that on Tuesday or there would be no trip to Machu Picchu. The longer story is that I slept with earplugs on Sunday night, and Julian generally sleeps like the dead so we both missed the alarm at 6am. The — Read the Rest…
Books

There are many many books at every destination. The one in Casa de Wow has drawings and poems from guests all over it. I have have drawn a picture and written some sentences of “respect” in the book. The picture with the world is what I wrote. If the picture is blurry it says: “The world is big. Don’t wait, start in Peru”
